Uncertain Futures: Americans and Science Fiction in the Early Cold War Era

Spent the summer working on twin exhibits, one online, the other in glass cases in the W.E.B. Du Bois library on the UMass campus. Of the two, the online exhibit was much more fun, because there are more opportunities to be creative in terms of presentation and aesthetics. But I’m still happy with the physical exhibit. Special thanks to the UMass Science Fiction Society for use of their collection, and to UMSFS founder Joe Ross.

The exhibit's title board...stealing this one when the exhibit comes down!

The large photo is Isaac Asimov on the UMass campus, 1966. Bottom right: reel-to-reel of another Asimov visit from the late seventies.

Note "Winged Victory" in the background.
